The Department of Public Health and Wellness to Host Regional Maternal Child Health Forum
The Kentucky Department for Public Health (DPH) has developed 11 regional forums in collaboration with local health departments to gather input from state and local government, education, health care, private industry and other interested individuals.
The economic and societal impact of health, including the oral, physical and mental health of mothers and children, will be discussed. Meeting participants will be asked to provide input on local initiatives, gaps and ways that local communities can partner with government and the private sector on strategies to increase the health status of our mothers and children.
This input will be used in the development of statewide priorities for our federal Maternal and Child Health Services Title V Block Grant, which helps fund our local health programs.
This forum is an opportunity to spotlight excellent programs to improve our health status and to find ways to improve the overall health of our mothers and children.
